PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (PALS) RETRAINING COURSE
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD TAKE PALS NEW PROVIDER COURSE IF THEIR PALS CERTIFICATION HAS EXPIRED. PARTICIPANTS WITH CURRENT CERTIFICATION CAN ENROLL IN THE RETRAINING COURSE.
The focus of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Recertification Course is to discuss the various aspects of ALS for infants and children. The ultimate goal of PALS is to improve the care of the pediatric patient in the emergency care setting and to increase the skill and confidence of healthcare professionals who care for children. The curriculum includes lectures, skill stations, and interactive sessions that integrate knowledge and skills into a clinically useful discipline.
The course is designed for physicians, physician extenders, nurses, paramedics, and others who are interested in improving skills in the emergency care of infants and children.
REGISTRATION FEE/MEETING MATERIALS
Please note that a mailing address needs to be provided in order to receive PALS course materials. The PALS manual, PALS instruction/on-line pre-test letter, and map to the PALS course location will not be provided until the registration fee is paid in full. It is highly recommended to allow a full two weeks of study time for successful completion of the course.

Knowledge and skills are tested in this course; therefore, advance preparation is strongly recommended. Course participants will receive PALS materials prior to the course. Pre-course assessment must be completed prior to the date of the PALS course. Participants must show pre-course assessment results and evidence of current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Case Scenarios and Testing
The registration fee for this course is as follows: HFHS Employees - $150.00, non-HFHS participants - $175.00. Make checks payable to HFH DEM - PALS. Henry Ford Hospital is an approved provider of the American Heart Association courses. Fees charged do not represent income to the American Heart Association.

COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation by Student: 50% registration fee reimbursement or reschedule course for cancellation notice received one week prior to the course. No registration fee reimbursement for cancellation notice received within one week of the course unless approved by director
Cancellation by Director: Class may be canceled at the discretion of the Director if less than 15 participants have registered for the course. Registration fees will be reimbursed or forwarded to the next course date per the registrant.
